Get relief from round ligament pain without pain relievers. Safe, simple, proven techniques in this book. Alleviate pregnancy related discomfort within minutes.

Round ligament pain is very common during pregnancy. It causes sharp pain that radiates in the abdominal or hip area and can also refer pain into the groin and legs. The pain may be on one side or both sides and can be intensified by movement. This is not considered a cause for concern.

Causes of Round Ligament Pain during Pregnancy

The round ligaments help to support the uterus. During pregnancy your uterus expands and places strain on your round ligament. This can produce a great deal of discomfort with sharp twinges between your hip bone and uterus. Movements such as coughing, sneezing or laughing activate these muscles quickly and can cause pain. Generally this pain is brief in duration.

Preventing Round Ligament Pain During Pregnancy

Practice prenatal yoga and regular stretching.

Get rest.

Use techniques such as those in the Pregnancy Pain Relief book.

Be sure to drink plenty of water.

Make sure you are getting adequate calcium and magnesium in your diet.

If you know you are going to sneeze or cough bend and flex your hips. There will be less strain on the round ligament if you are bent.

Try bringing your knees up toward your chest.

Change positions slowly to prevent the ligaments from contracting as much.

Use a pregnancy pillow at night to help relax your body as much as possible.

Treatment for Round Ligament Pain During Pregnancy

See a massage therapist, chiropractor or acupuncturist.

Take a warm bath.

Pregnancy Pain Relief techniques.

Try a pregnancy support belt.

When You Should Call Your Doctor

Your pain lasts for prolonged time periods.

Your round ligament pain is accompanied by bleeding or spotting.

Don’t suffer another moment with round ligament pain.

Get relief from pregnancy pain without pain relievers. Safe, simple, proven techniques to reliever breast pain in this book. Alleviate pregnancy related discomfort within minutes.

Breast changes are one of the first signs of pregnancy. Your breasts begin to be stimulated by pregnancy hormones including estrogen and progesterone from the moment of conception and will continue to change until the arrival of your baby and beyond.

Using simple and safe techniques from the Pregnancy Pain Relief book can help you to experience more comfort as your baby and breasts grow.

What Breast Changes Are Normal

Your breasts will feel swollen and sore.

Your breasts will feel heavy.

Breast growth begins in the first trimester, sometimes even in the first weeks of pregnancy. Most women grow at least one cup size.
You may experience tingling in your breasts.

Areolas (the skin around your nipples) will darken and become larger and will develop bumps on the surface, which are openings to glands which produce oils to lubricate your nipples and areolas. These bumps are called Montgomery’s tubercles.

Your veins along your breasts will become darker.

Your nipples become larger.

Your may have a thick, yellow discharge from your breasts. This is called colostrum. This discharge can begin as early as 12 weeks.

You may experience itching and possibly stretch marks.

Larger breasts will usually mean you will need new bras.

Look for a maternity bra, which will give more support and are designed with the pregnant woman in mind.

Stay away from under wire bras. As your baby grows these type of bras often dig and become uncomfortable.

Larger breasted women and those with a lot of breast sensitivity sometimes feel more comfortable wearing a bra at night. There are special pregnancy sleep bras which are made of cotton and are not too binding.

Front closure bras have a tendency to dig into your ribs as your belly grows.

Recheck your size. Measure around your chest, just underneath your breasts and then add 5 inches to determine the band size.

Then measure around the fullest part of your breasts. Subtract your chest measurement from this number. Every inch difference is a cup size, for instance A is a 1 inch difference, B is a 2 inch difference, etc.

Buy your bras with just a little extra room for growth.

Some women develop tender, hard areas in their breasts. These are generally clogged milk ducts and can be helped with moist heat compresses such as a warm washcloth and with breast massage.

Never treat your nipples roughly. Don’t brush them with a towel or washcloth to try to toughen them up. This can stimulate hormones in your body to stimulate the birth process prematurely. Additionally it will make breastfeeding more uncomfortable.

Pregnancy pain relief techniques can be helpful in alleviating breast tension and heaviness.

Don’t suffer another moment with breast pain.

The Pregnancy Pain Relief book will guide you out of pain and into comfort. Whether you have back, hip, chest, groin pain, rib pain, or round ligament pain due to pregnancy, this book covers what you need to do to get great results. There is no need for drugs when you use the right techniques.

Watch this video to be able to get an actual technique from the
Pregnancy Pain Relief book to help you get out of Pain

Hip pain is really common during pregnancy. It can occur at any time during pregnancy, but is generally the most problematic in the third trimester.

Causes of Hip Pain During Pregnancy

Increase in Hormones- Your body is running high with hormones such as progesterone and relaxin which have a loosening effect on your muscles, joints, and ligaments. This process helps prepare your body for childbirth, but also causes relaxation of tissues and joints that normally support your body.

Structural Changes- Your body is changing each day. Your abdominal muscles and uterus are stretching, and your baby is growing inside you. This puts extra strain on your hips and pelvis to hold you up and changes your center of gravity. You are using your muscles in different ways and this can cause discomfort.

Weight gain- As your pregnancy progresses you are gaining weight and this puts strain on your hips and pelvis, which are stretching and widening to make room for baby.

Poor posture- Bending and sitting improperly can put extra pressure and tension on your hips as can standing for extended periods of time.

Stress- Stress causes tension and stiffness in all parts of your body. With the extra pressure that maternity places on your hips and pelvis, hip pain is not uncommon. Try out some of our stress relieving tips.

Round ligament- can create intermittent sharp pains in the hips, pelvis, and uterus along the inside of your hip bones. This type of pain is caused by stretching in the uterus putting pressure on the round ligament that holds it in place.

Preventing Hip Pain During Pregnancy

The following are things you can do to reduce the amount of hip pain you are experiencing. Sometimes it is not possible to eliminate the pain completely, but the following tips can help dramatically.

Practice good posture- Stand with your hips and pelvis tucked in and your shoulders back and head up.

Wear good shoes- high heeled shoes and shoes without support can contribute to hip pain.

When sleeping or resting, lie on your side with your knees and hips bent. Try placing a pillow between your knees and one under your belly. This can take pressure off your hips and back. There are also some great pregnancy pillows that can help make you more comfortable.

Try a pregnancy support belt.

Practice safe lifting and bending- To lower your body, bend at the knees instead of the waist. Use your thigh muscles to push yourself up.

If you will be standing for extended periods of time, try to keep one of your feet elevated on a low stool.

Exercise regularly to strengthen your body and help support your increasing weight.

Prenatal Yoga- is excellent for keeping your body moving and increasing mobility while decreasing pain.

Be sure you are getting adequate calcium and magnesium in your diet.

Get your partner or a friend to help you with techniques such as those in the Pregnancy Pain Relief book.

Pregnancy massage (prenatal massage)- regular massages can help keep your body loose and comfortable, helping you manage stress and pain.

Acupuncture- can help keep you balanced and prevent you from aching,

Drink plenty of fluids.

Chiropractic visits can be helpful for hip pain.

When you sit, elevate your feet slightly. Try to take breaks at least every half hour and don’t cross your legs.

Treatment for Hip Pain During Pregnancy

Use ice or heat.

Take acetaminophen for pain.

See a chiropractor, massage therapist, or acupuncturist.

Use a pregnancy belt or support device.

When lying down use a pregnancy pillow.

Have your partner help you with pregnancy pain relief techniques.

Take a warm bath.

Herbal medicine.

When You Should Call Your Doctor

Your hip pain is very intense.

Your hip pain is getting increasingly worse.

You have rhythmic hip and pelvic pain that feels like menstrual cramps.

You are having spotting or bleeding.

Get relief from pelvic pain without pain relievers. Safe, simple, proven techniques in this book. Alleviate pregnancy related discomfort within minutes.

Early pregnancy can cause cramping or stretching feelings in your pelvis and abdomen. You may feel achy in your lower abdomen. This is generally normal and related to implantation and stretching of the uterus.

Some of the safe and simple techniques in the Pregnancy Pain Relief book may help you to aleviate some of the pain associated with the stretching of your uterus.

Causes of Pelvic Pain and Cramps During Pregnancy

Implantation- when the fetus implants and begins to grow inside your uterus it is common to experience some cramping similar to menstrual cramps.

Hormones- As your uterus expands and your body produces hormones to make your muscles, ligaments and tissues more elastic you may experience cramping, pulling, and painful twinges in your abdomen.

Urinary tract infection- Pelvic pain and cramping can be caused by urinary infections. Be especially aware of any burning sensation while urinating, difficult or frequent urination and pain in the kidney area in your back.

Orgasm- can cause cramping and contractions in the uterus. This is perfectly normal and not a cause for concern unless the cramping lasts for a prolonged period of time. orgasms normally cause contractions of the uterus, but while pregnant your uterus is larger and more sensitive and you feel it more.

Ectopic Pregnancy- ectopic pregnancy is when the embryo implants somewhere outside of the uterus, generally in one of the fallopian tubes. If you are experiencing spotting or bleeding together with your cramping early in your pregnancy, contact your doctor.

Treatment for Pelvic Pain and Cramping During Pregnancy

Take a warm bath.

Be sure to exercise.

Walk around. Movement can be helpful.

Take acetaminophen for pain.

When You Should Call Your Doctor

You are having urinary urgency or burning on urination.

Your pain is severe.

Your pain is accompanied by spotting or bleeding.

Your experiencing groin pain is really common during pregnancy. It can occur at any time during pregnancy, but is generally the most problematic in the third trimester.

Some Treatments You Can Use for Groin Pain During Pregnancy are:

Use ice or heat.

Take acetaminophen for pain. This is OK but doesn’t last as long as my techniques…

See a chiropractor, massage therapist, or acupuncturist. This can get expensive….and I’ve found many people say that felt nice… but it didn’t last….

Use a pregnancy belt or support device…is helpful….

When laying down use a pregnancy pillow…You’ll love pillows, they help so much...

Have your partner help you with pregnancy pain relief techniques. Of course I had to put this in…

Take a warm bath…. Add some sea salts…and a little lavender (the real stuff not lavenden).

Herbal medicine. Natural as much as possible.

Preventing You from Experiencing Groin Pain During Pregnancy

The following are things you can do to reduce groin pain. Sometimes it is not possible to eliminate all pain entirely, but the following tips can help dramatically.

Practice good posture- Stand with your hips and pelvis tucked in and your shoulders back and head up.

Wear good shoes- high heeled shoes and shoes without support can contribute to groin pain.

When sleeping or resting, lie on your side with your knees and hips bent. Try placing a pillow between your knees and one under your belly. This can take pressure off your groin, hips and back.

Believe me this makes it so easy to feel better….

Pregnancy massage (prenatal massage) – regular massages can help keep your body loose and comfortable, helping you manage stress and pain.

Acupuncture- can help keep you balanced and prevent you from aching.

Drink plenty of fluids.

Chiropractic visits can be helpful for groin pain.

When you sit, elevate your feet slightly.

Try to take breaks at least every half hour and don’t cross your legs.

Things That Can Cause Your Groin Pain During Pregnancy

Increase in Hormones-Your body is running high with hormones such as progesterone and relaxin which have a loosening effect on your muscles, joints, and ligaments. This process helps prepare your body for childbirth, but also causes relaxation of tissues and joints that normally support your body.

Structural Changes- Your body is changing each day. Your stomach muscles are stretching, as is your uterus. Your baby is increasing in size, putting extra strain on your hips and pelvis to hold you up. Your center of gravity is shifting. You are using your muscles in different ways and this can cause discomfort in your groin area. This is where the Pregnancy Pain Relief book shines.

Weight gain- As your pregnancy progresses you are gaining weight and this puts strain on your hips and pelvis, which are stretching and widening to make room for baby.

Poor posture- Bending and sitting improperly can put extra pressure and tension on your hips and groin as can standing for extended periods of time.

Stress- Stress causes tension and stiffness in all parts of your body. With the extra pressure that maternity places on your hips and pelvis, groin pain is not uncommon. Try out some of our stress relieving tips.

Round ligament- can create intermittent sharp pains in the hips, pelvis, and uterus along the inside of your hip bones and in the groin. This type of pain is caused by stretching in the uterus putting pressure on the round ligament that holds it in place. The free technique will help a lot with round ligament pain.

Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction- is a condition of instability in the pelvic joints, specifically the pubic bone, which can be aggravated by relaxed ligaments during pregnancy.

When You Should Call Your Doctor

Your groin pain is very intense.

Your groin pain is getting increasingly worse.

You have rhythmic hip and pelvic pain that feels like menstrual cramps.

You are having spotting or bleeding.

Eyes Open Childbirth Hypnosis Our Hypnobabies Home Study Course for Expectant Mothers is for women who want to ENJOY their baby’s natural birth by using hypnosis to eliminate pain and fear, and cannot attend a Hypnobabies Class, or simply want to study on their own.

Hypnobabies Home Study Course is an advanced Hypnosis for Childbirth course, using CDs and our Hypnobabies Workbook to prepare for birthing with little or no discomfort.

Hypnobabies is based on Master Hypnotist Gerald Kein’s Painless Childbirth Program and is extremely successful.

It is the only childbirth hypnosis program that teaches “Eyes Open Childbirth Hypnosis”, allowing the birthing mother to walk and talk and move around during labor, and yet remain deeply in hypnosis, relaxed and physically comfortable throughout. This is a very important feature for labor, to enable you to use upright positions for descent and positioning of your baby.

You must be prepared to learn self-hypnosis techniques which you will practice on a daily basis until your baby is born, and this is such and easy and naturally enjoyable daily routine!

Hypnobabies is also a COMPLETE childbirth education course, with a Nutritional Program, Pre-natal Exercises, Birth Plan, Optimal Fetal Positioning, Avoiding Back Labor, Anatomy and Physiology, Birthing Choices, Comfort and Safety in Pregnancy, Consumer Issues, Staying Healthy and Low Risk, Unexpected Situations, and much more.

You’ll use our Hypnobabies Workbook, CDs and hypnosis scripts to train the inner mind that contractions in labor will be felt only as pressure, tightening, pushing and baby movement sensations.

Hypnobabies uses the same kind of hypnosis techniques that people employ when preparing for surgery without any medication, which is called hypno-anesthesia.

Our classes also teach the Hypnobabies Birth Partners how to fully support our Hypno-moms, although Hypnobabies can also be used very successfully by single mothers.

To get relief from back pain when pregnant you want quality information. Here is some information and the book you should get a hold of that shows you how to get relief from pregnancy related pain of any kind.

Back pain is extremely common during pregnancy. As a matter of fact, 50-70% of pregnant women experience back pain at some point during their pregnancy. Although it can occur at any point between conception and childbirth, it is most frequently troublesome late in a pregnancy. There are things that can be done to help manage back pain.

Causes of Back Pain During Pregnancy

Implantation- Many women experience low back pain during early pregnancy when the newly formed embryo implants into your uterus. This can cause aching pain and cramping in your back.

Hormonal Changes- When you are expecting, your body produces a wide variety of hormones, one of which is called relaxin. Relaxin’s job is to relax and loosen the tissues of your body in order to help prepare for childbirth. This causes shifting of the joints and laxity in the muscles and ligaments that normally support your body and your spine, resulting in discomfort.

Changes to Your Posture- Your body is growing and changing each day. Your belly is growing and stretching along with the fetus that is inside. This causes the muscles and bones in your body to readjust in new and different ways. Your spine curves backward to compensate for a shift in your center of gravity as your abdomen protrudes. This can cause pressure and tension in your spine.

Weight gain- As your baby grows your weight increases and your back gets strained from supporting the extra weight.

Improper Bending- Heavy lifting, twisting, bending, and prolonged sitting can make your back hurt. You can prevent back pain by being aware of how you stand, sit and move.

Stress- Stress adds tension to the body and can contribute to pain anywhere. With the extra pressure that pregnancy places on your spine, the back is a very common place to experience stress tension. Try out some of our stress relieving tips.

Preventing Back Pain Before it Begins

The following are things you can do to reduce the amount of back pain you are experiencing. Sometimes it is not possible to eliminate pain completely, but the following tips can help dramatically.

Practice good posture- Stand with your hips and pelvis tucked in and your shoulders back and head up.

When sleeping or resting, lie on your side with your knees and hips bent. Try placing a pillow between your knees and one under your belly. This can help take pressure off your low back. There are also some great pregnancy pillows that can help make you more comfortable.

Wear good shoes. Heels and unsupportive shoes can contribute to spinal discomfort.

When you sit, elevate your feet slightly. Try to take breaks from sitting at least every half hour. Don’t cross your legs.

Practice safe lifting and bending. To lower your body, bend at the knees instead of the waist. Use your thigh muscles to push yourself back up without using your back.

Try a pregnancy support belt.

If you will be standing for extended periods of time, try to keep one of your feet elevated on a low stool.

Exercise regularly to support and strengthen your back.

Pregnancy massage(prenatal massage) is excellent for keeping your body loose and free of pain.

Get your partner or friend to practice hands on pregnancy pain relief techniques on your body.

Chiropractic visits can help prevent back pain.

Acupunture can help keep you balanced and prevent you from aching.

Prenatal Yoga can help keep your body loose and comfortable.

Be sure you are getting adequate Calcium and Magnesium in your diet

Drink plenty of fluids.

Treatment for Back Pain During Pregnancy

Use ice or heat.

Take acetaminophen for pain.

See a chiropractor, massage therapist, or acupuncturist.

Use a pregnancy beltor support device.

When lying down use a pregnancy pillow.

Have your partner help you with hands on techniques such as those in the Pregnancy Pain Relief Book.

Herbal Medicine.

Take a warm bath.

When You Should Call Your Doctor

Your back pain is very intense.

Your back pain is getting increasingly worse or you have sudden stabbing pain.

You have rhythmic back pain that feels like menstrual cramps.

Don’t suffer another moment with back pain.

Chest pain during pregnancy can come from wide and varied causes. During pregnancy you are likely to experience pains in many different areas of your body. If you are having persistent chest pain it is wise to be cautious and contact your doctor.

You may want to try the simple and safe techniques in the Pregnancy Pain Relief book to relieve the pain and discomfort.

Causes of Chest Pain During Pregnancy

Indigestion- gas can get trapped under your ribs and cause a great deal of pain and discomfort. See Gas and Stomach Pain for more information

Pressure from your baby- Pressure from your baby on your diaphragm or ribs can cause pain in the chest area. See Rib Pain for more information.

Anemia- if you are severely anemic this can cause chest pain. Other symptoms include fatigue, looking pale, shortness of breath, decreased color in your fingernails or in the lining underneath eyelids, fainting and heart palpitations. If you suspect you might be anemic, contact your doctor.

Widening of the rib cage- During pregnancy your rib cage becomes wider. This can cause strain on your muscles. It is not uncommon for women to feel short of breath, particularly as your baby gets larger and puts increasing pressure on the diaphragm

Asthma- If you have a history of asthma, pregnancy can aggravate your symptoms.

Breasts- Your breasts are increasing in weight and size. This puts a lot of tension on your chest.

Stress- can cause chest tension, difficulty breathing, pain and muscle tension.

Back Pain- can refer pain into the chest area. See Back Pain for more information

Preventing and Treating Chest Pain During Pregnancy

Stretch marks during pregnancy is as normal as breathing. Most women and girls will experience them in one form or another. Some of you may have experience rapid breast growth during puberty that caused you to get stretch marks on breasts and or hips, and yes everyone of you want to get rid of stretch marks and no one wants a single stretchmark.

All of your skin is fairly elastic, yet when rapid growth strikes such as with pregnancy the normal production of collagen (a major protein which makes up the connective tissue in your skin) is disrupted causing scaring and red lines to form.

You will notice them on your thighs, breasts, hips, and bottom and yes pregnancy is your number one contributor. Later I’ll address trying to improve collagen production to prevent stretch marks or at least prevent more stretch marks.

Some women and men alike may get stretchmarks from using steroid-containing creams or ointments (like Hydrocortisone) for longer than a few weeks. Sometimes high doses of oral corticosteroids for long periods of time.

Stretch marks may first appear as reddish or purplish lines that may seem to be indented, you may feel that your skins texture is changing in those areas.

Many times these marks (scars) will disappear over time. But as we all know we really don’t want them at all and we want to get rid of stretch marks sooner than later. Especially as summer approach’s and you want to fit into your favorite swim suit again.

Preventing Stretch Marks by Increasing Collagen Production.

No one can promise you that you can avoid stretch marks completely… however it is the opinion of this author that your skin has amazing abilities to do far beyond what you expect of it. If you take an active role to reduce stretch marks before they happen you may end up a happier woman.

By changing your diet to support collagen production you may be able to avoid some stretch marks. Also applying some masks and massage will greatly help your skin to give it a chance.

Here are some things to try:

You might consume foods that increase collagen production and benefit your skin. Soy products, such as soy milk, cheese and meat substitutes, contain genistein that helps block enzymes that break down and age the skin.

Dark green vegetables like spinach, kale and asparagus have lutein, which increases hydration and elasticity in skin. Red fruits and vegetables such as red peppers, beets and tomatoes have lycopenesl, an antioxidant that increases collagen production.

Using pregnancy stretch mark home remedies such as making a lotion made from extra virgin coconut butter mixed with vitamin E and a natural liquid C (I prefer opening capsules mixing them on a plastic wrap and directly applying them to the skin, apply for about 15 minutes) you can feed your skin with the wrap and you can rub it in after removing the wrap will do wonders for your skin. You may want to add a little dried kelp to your mix to feed your skin with the natural salts and iodine in kelp. Good stuff to reduce stretch marks, but a little messy. :O)

Another stretch marks treatment uses Vitamin C in a wrap containing avocado oil, which hydrates skin and is compatible with your skin’s natural oils. This also increases collagen in the dermis. Mix 2 teaspoons of avocado oil with 1/4 cup of honey and apply the belly using your fingertips. Rinse the wrap off with cool water after 15 minutes. Apply the wrap at least 3 times a week or more.

Please keep in mind that when you are in your third trimester it is best that you not spend to much time lying flat on your back…… Feel free to move around when applying wraps, oils, and lotions.

If you live near an ocean, you may want to go for frequent dips in the ocean (or take salts baths) and sun bathe 15 minutes on each side. Our bodies are made up of salts and water so it makes sense to go out and float around a little to feed your skin. It will feel great, take pressure off your spine, and the sun will help you with vitamin D production which will help you to feel better emotionally.

This is off the subject a little….. but…here I go….. the sun may be less your enemy than you may think. After sunbathing most everyone goes home and washes off all of the great nutrients that their skin has produced to protect it. The more of your natural oils that stay on your skin the better it is for your skin. Most sun screens are not healthy. Limit your sun exposure using your wisdom. If you start to get pink, move out of the sun.

Showering (rinsing) or bathing using only water for your skin (no wash cloths) is the recommendation of this author.

Use soap for the hair on top of your head only…..a little on the under arms…..and never on the v space.

Talk to your gynecologist… you may find it hard to believe that soap and douches actually cause itching, and ruin the good environment of your vaginal space. Water only is truly best for your skin and v space. The soap and douche companies have sold you a bill of goods. Trust me… you will feel cleaner and smell fresher without the soaps.

Now back on the subject of stretchmarks.

Please keep in mind that when you are in your last trimester it is best that you not spend to much time lying flat on your back…… Feel free to move around when applying wraps, oils, and lotions.

Another way that might help avoid some stretch marks is through gentle stretching using simple massage techniques found in the Pregnancy Pain Relief book. But you will not want to start working on your skin till after the first trimester .

Why you ask?????

You can massage yourself with nutrients talked about in this article….. but it is recommended that you wait till after your first trimester to receive a massage from someone else.

As for your skin….you have three layers of skin that are working independently of each other… by using the techniques as they are given in the Pregnancy Pain Relief book you are re-distributing collagen between the layers of your skin.

Moving these collagens can help protect the skin from some damage… Collagens tend to migrate to the points of least resistance and get caught in pockets… by using the stretches in the Pregnancy Pain Relief book you will assist your skin in redistributing them. Hopefully making for less scaring.

This brings up something I haven’t mentioned …..there are are actually several types of collagens one of which actually acts as a lubricant between the layers of skin. This is the one that gets driven into pockets and needs redistribution.

After doing these gentle stretches apply your oil, lotion, or wrap. Massage them in to help drive the nutrients into the skin.

Remember the above is not a guarantee…its a suggestion for you to take action to do what ever you can to prevent stretch marks before they happen. Work now to prevent stretch marks after pregnancy.

How to Get Rid of StretchMarks or Make Them less noticeable:

Truth is you can never get rid of the stretch marks completely. Lotions, oils, creams, extra virgin coconut butter with vitamin E and C can only do so much.

There is a product that makes bold claims that’s offering free samples all you pay is the $2:00 shipping fee. I’d like feed back from you on it….that product is called Celtrixa they offer a free sample if you click on the name Celtrixa you will be taken to an offer with a video on how it works. Please if you give it a try report back to me….I really want you to get the best products for you from this site.

Tanning treatments such as sprays and lotions such as in salons work well to help cover up the stretch marks. That said….tanning booths or beds don’t work as well because the scars don’t tan very well. Plus to be honest tanning beds and booths are not healthy for you or your skin.

You might try body makeup however if you want to go into the water most all makeup even though it may say water resistant still tends to come off after spending time in the water.

Mederma Stretch Marks Therapy, it does help stretch marks but tends too take a long time to get a good result. It works best when the stretch marks first appear and as long as there isn’t any open soars.

Bio Oil for Scars and stretch marks after reading the reviews on this product I decided to include it into this article. Many seem to think it works for them.

Some of the latest trends in beach fashion are coming to your rescue. Shorts and long swim suit tops with high necks make hiding scars easier by covering breast, hip and thigh stretch makers.

You can’t make stretch marks go away entirely without the help of a dermatologist (a doctor who specializes in treating skin problems) or plastic surgeon. These doctors may use one of many types of treatments — from actual surgery to techniques such as microdermabrasion and laser treatment — that reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

These techniques are expensive and stretch marks will probably diminish over time anyway.

You may want to discuss medical treatments with your dermatologist. Laser and light therapy can help stimulate the skin and increase collagen production, and may be an option if you are experiencing not having luck increasing collagen production on your own.

Of course this is after your baby is born. :O)

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is used by some for stretch mark removal.

A chemical peel (also referred to as chemical exfoliation) refers to the controlled removal of varying layers of the epidermis and superficial dermis with the use of a "wounding agent. The most common wounding agents are various preparations of phenol (i.e., Bakers solution), trichloroacetic acid (TCA), Jessners solution (i.e., resorcin, salacylic, and lactic acid), or alpha-hydroxy acids. Chemical peels are most often used for cosmetic purposes and are used to treat facial blemishes, wrinkles and uneven skin pigmentation. They can also be used to remove pre-cancerous skin growths, soften acne facial scars and control acne.

Dermabrasion is a method of controlled surgical scraping of the skin using a rough wire brush, or a burr containing particles attached to a motorized handle. It can be used on small areas of skin or the entire face and has been used for a number of years to treat a variety of dermatologic conditions such as acne, facial scars and in cosmetic facial resurfacing.

More recently, microdermabrasion, also called "particle-beam resurfacing," is also being used to treat acne as well as other epidermal abnormalities of the skin such as fine lines, wrinkles and mild acne scarring. It uses sterile micro-crystals which are applied in a stream to the skin’s surface and then suctioned away to exfoliate the stratum corneum.

This treatment for getting rid of stretch marks is not recommended by this author.

Laser Treatment for Stretch Marks?

What laser treatments for stretch marks can do is they can lessen the depth of stretch marks. Results are no equal with all and some women find greater improvement than others.

The laser therapy works by stimulating the deeper layers of skin to produce more elastin and collagen which can help to diminish but not erase the stretch mark scars.

Laser treatment for stretch marks works best when the stretch marks are still fresh (reddish). On older (silvery white) stretch marks the treatment could have little or no effect. Also for those with darker skin there is the danger of hyperpigmentation and the laser treatment is therefore unadvisable.

In closing, always do good research and be confident in your decisions. The more you do to take care of you and your baby the better your life will be.

Always consult with your doctor about any treatment or therapy you may wish to try.
