This is one of the better videos for positioning a woman for pregnancy massage or even to just give her a nice side lying position for a rest or rub.

If you ever to to want to get a pregnancy massage you would expect your therapist to position you in this manner. Lots of pillows are needed or as you will see further down the page you can find pregnancy pillows which are great anytime you want to rest.

As I always state, the Pregnancy Pain Relief book is not massage. I will actually do more for you than massage, acupuncture, or chiropractics.

When you purchase the Pregnancy Pain Relief book it has you positioned in this manner for best results. Pillows are a pregnant woman’s best friend. There is basically no oil used in the Pregnancy Pain Relief techniques except to finish off with a little rub once the treatments are done.

This video is 8.5 minutes long.

Another way to support is with a pregnancy pillow. These are some that I came across and thought you might want to get a hold of and why I like them.

By clicking on the image you will be taken to Amazon.com for that product. I have found it hard to beat Amazons prices so feel free to click on any of the ones I recommend to you.

Further down the page you will be able to see multiple images of each pillow offered on this page.

After reading many reviews on these large pregnancy pillows I am seeing a small trend.

If you are shorter let’s say 5 foot 3 inches or 5 foot 4 inches or smaller you may find these larger pillows overwhelming in size and weight.

Or, if you tend to like smaller flatter pillows you may find you could get a kink in your neck.

Another thing to think about is the size of your bed. If you have a queen size bed, there may not be enough room for you, the pillow, and your partner.

All in all, a lot of women love these pillows large maternity pillows. There are lots of reviews for you to read, when when you click on the image.

The picture to the right is the largest of the pillows offered the Leachco All Nighter.

This wedge will help with some of the stretch you may get to the round ligament as well as the stomach muscles that attach to the ribs.

A little bit of support goes a long way when you are pregnant.

I could also see this pillow used for breast feeding.

Here are some more pictures of each pillow .

This is the most popular pillow of the bunch.

It’s called the Leachco Snoogle.

It is probably the most comfortable in size and function.

It had the most reviews with the high rating of 4 stars.

Looks good for massage and for just lying around.

I think this would be a great purchase for you even if you aren’t pregnant.

The next one is the next size up is the Leachco Back N Belly Pillow. This pillow is a little larger and designed to fully support you front and back.

The Leachco Back ‘N Belly pillow will allow you to turn over without having to flip the whole pillow from one side of your body to the other.

You can see it would be easier to turn over and grab hold of the other side.

Looks pretty good doesn’t it.

They advertise with a picture of a mother nursing with this pillow.

Personally the pillow is so large, I would think you would need help handling your baby and the pillow at the same time.

If you have bought this pillow before let us know what your thoughts are.

That said, it is a highly rated pillow and has plenty of reviews recommending it.

As you can tell, this is not good for a massage pillow to big and it would get in the way.

This last pillow is the Leachco All Nighter. This is a huge pillow.

As you can see it can be rapped around you in a number of configurations.

With this one also you would be able to turn over without having to reorganize to much.

Just remember when picking out a pillow like one of these you want to make sure you are comfortable with large pillows under your neck.

I don’t want you getting a kink in your neck when you already are uncomfortable.

One last point. In reading a number of the reviews there was one other thing that came up

Please let us know if our reviews helped you in any way.

Round ligament pain can be a scary thing the first time you experience it. It is characterized by sharp pain that radiates in the abdominal, hip or groin area. This pain can can be on one side or both sides. Though it can be alarming, as it is quite sharp, round ligament pain should not create cause for concern.

This type of pelvic pain is caused by stretching or spasm in the round ligaments. The round ligament’s role is to help support the uterus. During pregnancy, the expansion of the uterus is enormous. This places a great deal of strain on the round ligaments as well as other uterine ligaments. As your uterus grows these ligaments can become over stretched or spasm, causing sudden sharp pelvic pain.

Pregnant women often worry that this acute pain indicates a severe problem. Your mind races fearing that something is wrong with the baby, or that you have appendicitis or some other serious condition. Generally, this is not the case.

Do be alert, however, if you are having fever, chills, painful urination, difficulty walking, or bleeding. These symptoms could indicate a more serious condition.

Round ligament pain is generally brief in duration, causing fast, sharp twinges that are short-lived. These pains may be recurring, but the duration of the pain is short. Sudden movements such as coughing, sneezing or laughing activate these muscles and can be painful.

Changing positions too quickly can also result in these sharp, shooting pains. This type of pain frequently occurs in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy.

It may be helpful to use gentle fascial stretching Pregnancy Pain Relief techniques, they are powerful yet simple and safe for most any pregnancy situation.

If you are suffering with round ligament pain, you may be able to get relief by bringing your knees up toward your chest. This will take some of the strain off of your over-stretched and spasming ligaments. If that does not provide relief, try lying on the side opposite the pain. You may also find it comforting to take a warm bath, or apply warm compresses to the painful area.

Try not to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Staying in one position for too long may aggravate the pain or allow it to occur more frequently. It is important to move more slowly. When you are changing to a sitting position, sit down slowly and gradually. The same is true for when you are rising from a sitting position, get up slowly. This will help decrease spasms and pain. Slowing down your movements will allow your body more time to transition comfortably.

If you feel a sneeze or cough coming on, or if you are going to laugh, try to bring your knees up toward your chest a little bit. This could help prevent the pain from beginning.

It is not unusual for round ligament pain to be problematic until your baby is born. In rare cases, round ligament pain may ease on its own. While it is certainly a discomfort, it is not a permanent condition. Once your baby is born, this pain should disappear completely.

Performing regular exercise and stretching can be valuable in keeping your body loose and more comfortable. Prenatal yoga is an excellent exercise for pregnancy that will help to gently stretch your body and may prevent a variety of pains.

Use of a pregnancy pillow may help take the strain off of your ligaments at night. If you do not have a pregnancy pillow, try placing a pillow between your knees and under your belly for extra support. These small things may go a long way for alleviating discomfort.

Don’t suffer another moment with round ligament pain.

The Pregnancy Pain Relief book will guide you out of pain and into comfort. Whether you have back, hip, chest, groin pain, pelvic, or rib pain due to pregnancy, this book covers what you need to do to get great results.
Get relief from lower back or lumbar pain without pain relievers. Safe, simple, proven techniques in this book. Alleviate pregnancy related discomfort within minutes.

Low back pain or lumbar is extremely common during pregnancy. As a matter of fact, 50-70% of pregnant women experience back pain at some point during their pregnancy. Although it can occur at any point between conception and childbirth, it is most frequently troublesome late in a pregnancy. There are things that can be done to help manage back pain.

1. Causes of Back Pain During Pregnancy

Implantation- Many women experience low back pain during early pregnancy when the newly formed embryo implants into your uterus. This can cause aching pain and cramping in your back.

Hormonal Changes- When you are expecting, your body produces a wide variety of hormones, one of which is called relaxin. Relaxin’s job is to relax and loosen the tissues of your body in order to help prepare for childbirth. This causes shifting of the joints and laxity in the muscles and ligaments that normally support your body and your spine, resulting in discomfort.

Changes to Your Posture- Your body is growing and changing each day. Your belly is growing and stretching along with the fetus that is inside. This causes the muscles and bones in your body to readjust in new and different ways. Your spine curves backward to compensate for a shift in your center of gravity as your abdomen protrudes. This can cause pressure and tension in your spine.

Weight gain- As your baby grows your weight increases and your back gets strained from supporting the extra weight.
Improper Bending- Heavy lifting, twisting, bending, and prolonged sitting can make your back hurt. You can prevent back pain by being aware of how you stand, sit and move.

Stress- Stress adds tension to the body and can contribute to pain anywhere. With the extra pressure that pregnancy places on your spine, the back is a very common place to experience stress tension. Try out some of our stress relieving tips.

2. Preventing Lower Back Pain or Lumbar Pain Before it Begins

The following are things you can do to reduce the amount of lower back pain you are experiencing. Sometimes it is not possible to eliminate pain completely, but the following tips can help dramatically.

Practice good posture- Stand with your hips and pelvis tucked in and your shoulders back and head up.

When sleeping or resting, lie on your side with your knees and hips bent. Try placing a pillow between your knees and one under your belly. This can help take pressure off your low back. There are also some great pregnancy pillows that can help make you more comfortable.

Wear good shoes. Heels and unsupportive shoes can contribute to spinal discomfort.

When you sit, elevate your feet slightly. Try to take breaks from sitting at least every half hour. Don’t cross your legs.

Practice safe lifting and bending. To lower your body, bend at the knees instead of the waist. Use your thigh muscles to push yourself back up without using your back.

Try a pregnancy support belt.

If you will be standing for extended periods of time, try to keep one of your feet elevated on a low stool.

Exercise regularly to support and strengthen your back.

Pregnancy massage (prenatal massage) is excellent for keeping your body loose and free of pain.

Get your partner or friend to practice hands on pregnancy pain relief techniques on your body.

Chiropractic visits can help prevent back pain.

Acupunture can help keep you balanced and prevent you from aching.

Prenatal Yoga can help keep your body loose and comfortable.

Be sure you are getting adequate Calcium and Magnesium in your diet.

Drink plenty of fluids.

3. Treatment for Lower Back Pain or Lumbar Pain During Pregnancy

Take acetaminophen for pain.

See a chiropractor, massage therapist, or acupuncturist.

Use a pregnancy belt or support device.

Have your partner help you with hands on techniques such as those in the Pregnancy Pain Relief Book.

Herbal Medicine.

Get relief from back pain at night without pain relievers. Safe, simple, proven techniques in this book. Alleviate pregnancy related discomfort within minutes.

Many women suffer with pregnancy back pain at night. This type of night back pain in pregnancy is called nocturnal back pain. You may have it on its own, or concurrently with low back or sacroiliac pain.

There are a couple of different theories as to why night back pain develops during pregnancy. One theory is that it is caused by muscle fatigue from being active all day. By the end of the day, your body becomes more fatigued, and thus you feel more discomfort toward the evening hours.

The second theory is that nocturnal back pain is due to water retention. This can lead to edema and an increased volume of blood. This additional water in the body can place pressure on the spinal nerves and muscles, resulting in backaches.

Some women have very severe back pain while sleeping during their pregnancy. The most important thing you can do is to avoid sleeping on your back during pregnancy. Lying on your back, or in the supine position, compresses major arteries and veins, namely the inferior vena cava and the aorta. This decreases circulation and allows fluid pressure to build up in the pelvis, which places pressure on the spinal nerves.

As your fetus grows, it also puts more and more pressure on your arteries and veins. The farther along you are in your pregnancy, the more important it is to avoid sleeping on your back. The healthiest sleeping position for you and your baby is on your sides. Resting on your left side will place the least amount of pressure on your spine.

In addition to side sleeping, supporting the uterus can help alleviate night back pain. To properly support your uterus, lay on your side with pillows under your abdomen and between your legs. This will help to support your uterus and keep your spine in a neutral position. There are several wonderful pregnancy pillows that can help to make sleeping much more comfortable.

It is also important to make special efforts during the day to adjust your posture in ways that will help prevent muscle fatigue. Be sure to take frequent breaks from standing or sitting. If you must sit or stand for long periods of time, elevate one foot on a low stool or foot rest. Also, wear good, supportive shoes, and avoid wearing high heeled shoes, which place extra strain on the

It is also possible to manage pregnancy back pain at night by maintaining a regular exercise program. Regular exercise will help strengthen and support the spine, therefore helping to minimize strain and muscle fatigue. Exercise and postural adjustments will help to minimize night time back pain, but may not completely prevent it.

Many women find pain relief in alternative approaches such as acupuncture and massage therapy, though this relief may be only temporary. There are a variety of gentle hands on techniques that can be performed at home, which are also beneficial for relieving pregnancy related back pain.

Unfortunately, anti-inflammatory medications such as motrin, advil, and aspirin are contraindicated during pregnancy. The only pain reliever considered safe during pregnancy is acetaminophen.

Soaking in a hot tub or whirlpool is not recommended during pregnancy. You may however find a warm, not hot, bath can soothe your sore back. Try adding Epsom salt to a warm bath to help relieve pain.

Don’t suffer another moment with back at night pain.

Get relief from round ligament pain without pain relievers. Safe, simple, proven techniques in this book. Alleviate pregnancy related discomfort within minutes.

Round ligament pain is very common during pregnancy. It causes sharp pain that radiates in the abdominal or hip area and can also refer pain into the groin and legs. The pain may be on one side or both sides and can be intensified by movement. This is not considered a cause for concern.

Causes of Round Ligament Pain during Pregnancy

The round ligaments help to support the uterus. During pregnancy your uterus expands and places strain on your round ligament. This can produce a great deal of discomfort with sharp twinges between your hip bone and uterus. Movements such as coughing, sneezing or laughing activate these muscles quickly and can cause pain. Generally this pain is brief in duration.

Preventing Round Ligament Pain During Pregnancy

Practice prenatal yoga and regular stretching.

Get rest.

Use techniques such as those in the Pregnancy Pain Relief book.

Be sure to drink plenty of water.

Make sure you are getting adequate calcium and magnesium in your diet.

If you know you are going to sneeze or cough bend and flex your hips. There will be less strain on the round ligament if you are bent.

Try bringing your knees up toward your chest.

Change positions slowly to prevent the ligaments from contracting as much.

Use a pregnancy pillow at night to help relax your body as much as possible.

Treatment for Round Ligament Pain During Pregnancy

See a massage therapist, chiropractor or acupuncturist.

Take a warm bath.

Pregnancy Pain Relief techniques.

Try a pregnancy support belt.

When You Should Call Your Doctor

Your pain lasts for prolonged time periods.

Your round ligament pain is accompanied by bleeding or spotting.

Don’t suffer another moment with round ligament pain.

Get relief from pregnancy pain without pain relievers. Safe, simple, proven techniques to reliever breast pain in this book. Alleviate pregnancy related discomfort within minutes.

Breast changes are one of the first signs of pregnancy. Your breasts begin to be stimulated by pregnancy hormones including estrogen and progesterone from the moment of conception and will continue to change until the arrival of your baby and beyond.

Using simple and safe techniques from the Pregnancy Pain Relief book can help you to experience more comfort as your baby and breasts grow.

What Breast Changes Are Normal

Your breasts will feel swollen and sore.

Your breasts will feel heavy.

Breast growth begins in the first trimester, sometimes even in the first weeks of pregnancy. Most women grow at least one cup size.
You may experience tingling in your breasts.

Areolas (the skin around your nipples) will darken and become larger and will develop bumps on the surface, which are openings to glands which produce oils to lubricate your nipples and areolas. These bumps are called Montgomery’s tubercles.

Your veins along your breasts will become darker.

Your nipples become larger.

Your may have a thick, yellow discharge from your breasts. This is called colostrum. This discharge can begin as early as 12 weeks.

You may experience itching and possibly stretch marks.

Larger breasts will usually mean you will need new bras.

Look for a maternity bra, which will give more support and are designed with the pregnant woman in mind.

Stay away from under wire bras. As your baby grows these type of bras often dig and become uncomfortable.

Larger breasted women and those with a lot of breast sensitivity sometimes feel more comfortable wearing a bra at night. There are special pregnancy sleep bras which are made of cotton and are not too binding.

Front closure bras have a tendency to dig into your ribs as your belly grows.

Recheck your size. Measure around your chest, just underneath your breasts and then add 5 inches to determine the band size.

Then measure around the fullest part of your breasts. Subtract your chest measurement from this number. Every inch difference is a cup size, for instance A is a 1 inch difference, B is a 2 inch difference, etc.

Buy your bras with just a little extra room for growth.

Some women develop tender, hard areas in their breasts. These are generally clogged milk ducts and can be helped with moist heat compresses such as a warm washcloth and with breast massage.

Never treat your nipples roughly. Don’t brush them with a towel or washcloth to try to toughen them up. This can stimulate hormones in your body to stimulate the birth process prematurely. Additionally it will make breastfeeding more uncomfortable.

Pregnancy pain relief techniques can be helpful in alleviating breast tension and heaviness.

Don’t suffer another moment with breast pain.

The Pregnancy Pain Relief book will guide you out of pain and into comfort. Whether you have back, hip, chest, groin pain, rib pain, or round ligament pain due to pregnancy, this book covers what you need to do to get great results.
Watch this video to be able to get an actual technique from the
Pregnancy Pain Relief book to help you get out of Pain

Hip pain is really common during pregnancy. It can occur at any time during pregnancy, but is generally the most problematic in the third trimester.

Causes of Hip Pain During Pregnancy

Increase in Hormones- Your body is running high with hormones such as progesterone and relaxin which have a loosening effect on your muscles, joints, and ligaments. This process helps prepare your body for childbirth, but also causes relaxation of tissues and joints that normally support your body.

Structural Changes- Your body is changing each day. Your abdominal muscles and uterus are stretching, and your baby is growing inside you. This puts extra strain on your hips and pelvis to hold you up and changes your center of gravity. You are using your muscles in different ways and this can cause discomfort.

Weight gain- As your pregnancy progresses you are gaining weight and this puts strain on your hips and pelvis, which are stretching and widening to make room for baby.

Poor posture- Bending and sitting improperly can put extra pressure and tension on your hips as can standing for extended periods of time.

Stress- Stress causes tension and stiffness in all parts of your body. With the extra pressure that maternity places on your hips and pelvis, hip pain is not uncommon. Try out some of our stress relieving tips.

Round ligament- can create intermittent sharp pains in the hips, pelvis, and uterus along the inside of your hip bones. This type of pain is caused by stretching in the uterus putting pressure on the round ligament that holds it in place.

Preventing Hip Pain During Pregnancy

The following are things you can do to reduce the amount of hip pain you are experiencing. Sometimes it is not possible to eliminate the pain completely, but the following tips can help dramatically.

Practice good posture- Stand with your hips and pelvis tucked in and your shoulders back and head up.

Wear good shoes- high heeled shoes and shoes without support can contribute to hip pain.

When sleeping or resting, lie on your side with your knees and hips bent. Try placing a pillow between your knees and one under your belly. This can take pressure off your hips and back. There are also some great pregnancy pillows that can help make you more comfortable.

Try a pregnancy support belt.

Practice safe lifting and bending- To lower your body, bend at the knees instead of the waist. Use your thigh muscles to push yourself up.

If you will be standing for extended periods of time, try to keep one of your feet elevated on a low stool.

Exercise regularly to strengthen your body and help support your increasing weight.

Prenatal Yoga- is excellent for keeping your body moving and increasing mobility while decreasing pain.

Be sure you are getting adequate calcium and magnesium in your diet.

Get your partner or a friend to help you with techniques such as those in the Pregnancy Pain Relief book.

Pregnancy massage (prenatal massage)- regular massages can help keep your body loose and comfortable, helping you manage stress and pain.

Acupuncture- can help keep you balanced and prevent you from aching,

Drink plenty of fluids.

Chiropractic visits can be helpful for hip pain.

When you sit, elevate your feet slightly. Try to take breaks at least every half hour and don’t cross your legs.

Treatment for Hip Pain During Pregnancy

Use ice or heat.

Take acetaminophen for pain.

See a chiropractor, massage therapist, or acupuncturist.

Use a pregnancy belt or support device.

When lying down use a pregnancy pillow.

Have your partner help you with pregnancy pain relief techniques.

Take a warm bath.

Herbal medicine.

When You Should Call Your Doctor

Your hip pain is very intense.

Your hip pain is getting increasingly worse.

You have rhythmic hip and pelvic pain that feels like menstrual cramps.

You are having spotting or bleeding.

Watch this video to be able to get an actual technique from the
Pregnancy Pain Relief book to help you get out of Pain

Rib pain is common during pregnancy, especially in the last trimester. As the baby grows and fills up your abdomen it begins to put pressure on your ribs and chest, causing pain and shortness of breath. Though you may feel short of breath, your body is actually breathing 40-50 percent more air than before you were expecting. Your rib cage is widening as well. As your baby begins to drop preparing for delivery (called lightening), you may find rib pain and shortness of breath will ease.

You can get rid of rib pain without medication using the safe and simple techniques in the Pregnancy Pain Relief book. It’s the best way to get immediate results and you could have this book in as little as 5 minutes on your computer.

Causes of Rib Pain During Pregnancy

Pressure from your baby- Your baby is growing and pressing up on your ribcage. It is not uncommon to experience discomfort, heaviness, and feeling short of breath.

Pressure from your breasts- Your breasts are growing and becoming heavier. As your pregnancy progresses you most likely will grow one or more bra sizes. This extra weight from your breasts pulls on your shoulders and upper back and weighs on your rib cage.

Hormones- Hormones cause a loosening of all your muscles and ligaments including those in your upper back and ribs.

Pressure on your diaphragm- As your baby gets bigger in will nest just under your rib cage, putting pressure on your diaphragm making breathing more difficult. There are also several nerves in your diaphragm which can refer pain into your ribs and shoulders.

Stress- contributes to tension, anxiety, shortness of breath, shoulder pain and other pain.

Urinary Tract Infection- you may feel pain in your ribs due to a urinary infection. If you are experiencing rib and flank pain with kidney discomfort or difficulty urinating, painful urination or burning with urination contact your doctor.

Preventing Rib Pain During Pregnancy

Exercise and do regular stretching.

Practice Yoga.

Use Pregnancy Pain Relief techniques to loosen your body and take pressure off of your ribs, breasts and abdomen.

Try a new bra- be sure to get one that is very supportive, but not too tight. Under wire bras may press on your ribs and aggravate pain.

Wear loose clothing.

Be aware of your posture- sit up straight with your shoulders back and head up. Slouching will aggravate pain.

Practice prenatal Yoga.

Hold your arms over your head to expand your rib cage.

Do breathing exercises.

Use a pregnancy pillow for sleeping.

When resting, try laying on your left side or you can relax with your arms extended above your head.

Get relief from pelvic pain without pain relievers. Safe, simple, proven techniques in this book. Alleviate pregnancy related discomfort within minutes.

Early pregnancy can cause cramping or stretching feelings in your pelvis and abdomen. You may feel achy in your lower abdomen. This is generally normal and related to implantation and stretching of the uterus.

Some of the safe and simple techniques in the Pregnancy Pain Relief book may help you to aleviate some of the pain associated with the stretching of your uterus.

Causes of Pelvic Pain and Cramps During Pregnancy

Implantation- when the fetus implants and begins to grow inside your uterus it is common to experience some cramping similar to menstrual cramps.

Hormones- As your uterus expands and your body produces hormones to make your muscles, ligaments and tissues more elastic you may experience cramping, pulling, and painful twinges in your abdomen.

Urinary tract infection- Pelvic pain and cramping can be caused by urinary infections. Be especially aware of any burning sensation while urinating, difficult or frequent urination and pain in the kidney area in your back.

Orgasm- can cause cramping and contractions in the uterus. This is perfectly normal and not a cause for concern unless the cramping lasts for a prolonged period of time. orgasms normally cause contractions of the uterus, but while pregnant your uterus is larger and more sensitive and you feel it more.

Ectopic Pregnancy- ectopic pregnancy is when the embryo implants somewhere outside of the uterus, generally in one of the fallopian tubes. If you are experiencing spotting or bleeding together with your cramping early in your pregnancy, contact your doctor.

Treatment for Pelvic Pain and Cramping During Pregnancy

Take a warm bath.

Be sure to exercise.

Walk around. Movement can be helpful.

Take acetaminophen for pain.

When You Should Call Your Doctor

You are having urinary urgency or burning on urination.

Your pain is severe.

Your pain is accompanied by spotting or bleeding.
