This video you must watch. It is amazing to me that it has taken so long for the medical community  to come to the conclusions that these doctors are now making.

For years doctors have thought they were the only ones to take care of you and your baby when it came to your delivery day. Well, welcome to a new horizon. Midwives and Doulas are now getting the respect they so deserve.

After working for years with wonderful midwifes and doulas around my area I’m proud to share with you this video that inspires me and gives me hope that the medical world may be waking up.

This DVD is like a reference book for pregnancy massage where you can look up conditions (for example, diastasis recti) and find out how to work with clients with these conditions. But rather than just a description on the flat page, you get a demonstration by the teacher. The teacher is Leslie Stager, a licensed massage therapist and registered nurse who has served as a labor and delivery nurse, childbirth educator and midwifery clinic nurse. She generously shares her expansive knowledge and skills on this sophisticated video, elegantly produced by Real Bodywork. Stager leads you through all aspects of pregnancy massage. As she discusses the physiological changes of the mother’s body, they are revealed from the inside using computer enhanced models of the progressing pregnancy. Stager demonstrates massage methods using side-lying and semi-reclining  positioning as well as techniques for a full list of conditions that might develop such as sciatica, shortness of breath and edema. Her presentation style is easy to follow and comprehend. This DVD even includes physician referral and client intake forms you can print from your computer to use in your practice. I highly recommended this DVD.

This is like an advanced course in working with pregnant women. There is so much info here that I keep coming back to it to learn more. I feel really confident, after watching the tape, to be able to handle the pregnant women who come in for a massage.

Great DVD! Lots of useful information & practical sequences for the beginner and experienced therapist.
I definitely recommend this DVD if you (qualified therapists) do not have time to attend a course or sit and read pages and pages on this subject.
Great for reviewing over & over, good confidence boost!

As a NCBTMB certified Massage Therapist who also did advanced work at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy in Pregnancy Massage of over 100 hours, this DVD offers a comprehensive knowledge of working in sideline position. I learned many new techniques while watching this video, and I highly recommend it for anyone working the in field. I cannot imagine any other DVD being more comprehensive or knowledgable than this one. Everything you need is right here including contraindications on presure points to avoid. The DVD is highly professional in every area.

A lot of information ,

This video covers everything it states and more, sometimes too much more.
I too have worked as a L&D nurse, and even I could only take it in short snips.
Though I do believe all massage therapist should know the information before doing a pregnancy massage.
So, find a comfortable chair, get some tea, a scones or two, and pay attention there is a lot here.

I found this DVD very helpful. I would recommend this to anyone interested in pregnancy massage.
Leslie Stager gives a wealth of information in a short amount of time. Her years as a labor and delivery nurse, childbirth educator, and midwife gives her confidence and professionalism. She demonstrates proper draping and body positioning fit for pregnancy massage. It covers a broad spectrum of pregnancy issues and even includes a client intake form with questions geared to the pregnant woman.
